Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga literally translates to “eight-limbed” which is the basis of the name of my studio. This method of yoga involves breath control with a series of progressive postures, a process producing intense internal heat and purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles.

For each movement, there is one breath. Synchronizing breathing and movement heats the blood, cleaning and thinning it so that it may circulate more freely. Circulation improves, relieving joint discomfort and removing toxins and disease from the internal organs. The sweat generated from the heat carries the impurities out of the body. Core and limb strength, overall flexibility, balance, and a calm mind develop rather quickly with Ashtanga practice. I’ve had students claim that they’ve never felt more connected with themselves after an intense Ashtanga workout. Our Ashtanga workouts at the Eight Lim Yoga Studio are progressive and traditional. And tough! We step through the primary series, which detoxifies and aligns the body. We practice the intermediate series, which purifies the nervous system.

There is more to yoga than the postures; yoga philosophy provides an approach to living. Yoga is a form of physical, mental, and spiritual purification. Our focus at Eight Lim Yoga Studio is on the postures in order to produce a beautiful strong and lean body, and a calm focused mind. Previous yoga experience is recommended before starting the Ashtanga series. A single class is 90 minutes and requires a certain amount of yoga endurance. Prepare with adequate hydration and a lite snack 45 minutes before class if possible. MORE>>

Hatha Yoga
Hatha literally translates to “sun moon”, which is symbolic for bringing union to pairs of opposites. Breath control is essential to yoga and helps create a connection between mind and body. Hatha Yoga is our starting point in which to practice breath control. If you are new to yoga, please begin with this class.
Each level of yoga should be developed before proceeding, and the essentials of breath control are first. In our Hatha class, we practice postures for meditation, stretching, and breathing, all part of building a foundation of physical and mental strength and competency before moving toward the more challenging Ashtanga postures. With Hatha, we build our yoga foundation, ensuring our strong base. Class is 90 minutes. Prepare with adequate hydration 45 minutes before class if possible. MORE>>

Medicine Ball
The history of Medicine Ball is grounded in Greek and Egyptian fitness traditions. The medicine ball is a large heavily padded ball roughly the size of a volleyball or basketball. We use the medicine ball in such a way as to build strength, agility, balance, and explosive power. The medicine ball can be incorporated for cross training and power building for isolated muscles.
A medicine ball workout is a great complement to a Gentle/Hatha yoga session. Prepare to have sore muscles! I’ve had students complain in class, and then glow with appreciation after getting the results they love. Class is 60 minutes. Medicine balls are provided. Also, it’s good to detoxify with vitamin water after a hard session, helps flush lactic acid buildup. MORE>>

Private Yoga Lessons
If you are not ready to join the group yet, feel you need a more challenging session, find it more convenient, or are just curious about yoga -- I am available for private yoga lessons. A private session can be hosted in the studio. Sessions range from 1-2 hours. Generally, a private yoga lesson in studio is $100 for 90 minutes for one person. Based on schedule availability.

You may pay for one class at a time, or save with a package of any combination of classes. Our packages are not transferable, refundable or sharable. Reserving a spot is recommended by using our online scheduling system. A 24-hour cancellation noticed is preferred; or remove your name using the online scheduling system. Please be sure to sign in at the front desk. We only accept cash or check at this time.
